KAMPALA, Uganda — In a heartwarming display of compassion and community spirit, Subaru drivers from Kenya and Uganda, united under their umbrella organization, Forester Nation, came together on April 8, 2023, to embark on a noble mission of raising funds for children with disabilities at Namutamba Rehabilitation Centre for Children (NRCC) and raising disability awareness.
The East African Charity Run for Namutamba Rehabilitation Centres for Children was a unique initiative tailored for Subaru drivers hailing from various East African countries. The aim was simple yet profound: to contribute funds and essential food items, ensuring that the children at Namutamba Rehabilitation Center experience unparalleled joy during the Easter season.
Speaking during the flagging off of this remarkable drive, Prosy Mbabazi, the President of Forester Nation Uganda, emphasized the importance of Subaru drivers giving back to their community. She stated, “Although Subaru drivers are often associated with Showbiz, this time, we are going beyond the glitz and glamour to make a meaningful impact.”

For two years running, Forester Nation Uganda and Kenya have supported underprivileged children, and this year, Uganda took the lead as the host. President Mbabazi expressed their commitment to spreading Easter happiness to the children of Namutamba Rehabilitation Centre, and indeed, they delivered on this promise.
A substantial amount of funds and a wide array of goods, including mattresses, blankets, bed sheets, clothes, wheelchairs, and essential foodstuffs like posho, rice, and sugar, were mobilized. These contributions are poised to ensure that Easter becomes a time of joy and celebration for the children at the center.
Forester Nation has a proud history of conducting charity runs, not only in Uganda but also in Kenya, where they identify and support needy individuals and communities. Namutamba Rehabilitation Centre was chosen due to its remote location, situated 88km away from Kampala, making it challenging for donors to reach despite its pressing needs.
